Our conversation at dinner the other night....
Colin (looking at the food on his plate in disgust): What is this?
Me: It's manicotti
Colin: I don't wike mani-cotti
Me (upset that I can never cook anything he "wikes"): Oh well that is what's for dinner tonight.
Trevor (taking a big bite): Mmmm, it's good. Mom, you're a better cooker than the food network.
Me (giving Trevor a big hug): See, your brother likes it.
Colin: I'm done (gets up and takes his plate full of food to the counter)
Later that night....
Colin: Mom, I'm huuungry.
Me: Too bad, you should have eaten your manicotti.
Colin (very angry): But I don't WIKE mani-cotti!

That is so cute that Trevor thinks you're a "better cooker than the food network." I am so over cooking dinner for my kids because I get the same reaction from Luke every time.
Sounds like MY HOUSE! My girls are the same way. I tell them to eat because that is what's for dinner, and they DON'T... then they cry all night that they are hungry! It makes me so mad!
I guess a lot of us are in similar situations. It really stinks!
This cracked me up. Maybe it's because I have a picky eater too and can relate. I'm impressed that Trevor knows what the food network is!
Kellee,
Trevor had been watching Food Network with me since he was a baby. When he was little and 30 Minute Meals came on he'd get so excited. Rachel Ray is still his favorite!
What a good mom-- I give you credit for even making manicotti!! We need to have a girl's get together soon! Hopefully we'll be getting together to celebrate my wedding in the very very very near future! ha ha!
This is such a cute story - and clearly touches lots of people (with all the posts here)! I wish the girls were still so darn little and cute - now they're bigger, know they're cute, and are "smart" lots of the time! :)
